Black Walnut Cafe
WOW! I can't believe it's been 3 months since my last entry. It's been pretty crazy, but now that I've had a chance to breathe a little, I'll try to catch up!
A new location for Black Walnut Cafe just opened in Cinco Ranch, out in Katy, TX. I was called out by Zeigler Cooper Architects to take a few shots of the exterior and interior.
Shooting public places with people can be a challenge but a little selective focus or slow shutter speeds helps make sure faces aren't recognizable.

Modern Ranch
This week I had the chance to work with RD Architecture again. I got to shoot this amazing remodel that turned an original "Brady Bunch" style ranch home into what you see here. We photographed the interior of the home first, while the sun was still up. Then, as the sun began to set behind the trees we were able to move outside and get some shots of the exterior at various light levels with a nice amber glow from the interior lighting.

Richly Detailed
This is a another remodel project I just recently had the pleasure of photographing. What may look like a small project overall, was actually big on details. Amazing work as always by RD Architecture

Hubbell & Hudson Kitchen
I was called out recently to shoot the new Hubbell & Hudson Kitchen in The Woodlands. This was a challenge since we were shooting during business hours on a weekend with lots of customers. The use of a slow shutter speed… and a bit of patience… was a creative way to blur people to keep them from being recognizable. I think it turned out well and the client was happy.

Yellow!
This week's shoot was full of yellow! Cranes and specific crane equipment before it left the factory for it's final destination. Did I mention there was lots of yellow?

Brené Brown at Houston PBS
This past week I had the pleasure of shooting Brené Brown during her PBS taping here in Houston. I had the chance to shoot her and all the other amazing speakers at TEDx Houston several months ago, but it was great to hear her speak this time in a much more intimate setting, and she was allowed much more time to get her message of "The Gifts of Imperfection" across to her captivated audience. I would highly recommend checking out her website and videos.

2010 Houston Solar Tour
The Houston Solar Tour (http://www.houstonsolartour.com/) is comprised of a "social" (held at the University of Houston this year) that offers first-hand experience on different solar energy options for personal and commercial applications for homes and businesses. Learn about the growing renewable energy industry and see it applied to everything from student projects, to new and old homes in Houston, to City of Houston commercial buildings. And then a city tour is offered all afternoon which allows you to see all this green technology in action. It's a good (and educational) time had by all, and Blue Lemon Photo is proud to have been a part of it.
