Sofia Rose DeSilva Has Arrived!

And a whopping 9 days early! Some shoots had to be rescheduled, so thanks to all of you for understanding. Mom and baby girl are now home and doing great. She weighed in at 6lbs, 12oz and was about 19" long. I hope she likes the camera because her modeling career has already begun!

San Jose del Cabo, Mexico

Just back from a little trip to Mexico and starting to go through all my photos. This is one of my favorites so far. I loved the subtle vanilla-like colors we would see at dusk each night. One week was nice but an additional week would have been even nicer! More pics to come...

Packing for Cabo!

Who cares about underwear? The most important thing for me on any trip is my photo gear! Stuffing the Billingham Hadley Pro with the Leica M9, couple lenses, Epson back-up drive, MacBook Air, misc gear... And what's not pictured is my Nikon D700 dslr with the fat 14-24 lens, which I'll be stuffing in here as well.

If there is one thing that makes any photographer jump for joy, it's getting a new toy. Today's object of affection is a new (to me) lens for my Leica M9. It's a pre-owned mint Elmarit 90mm f/2.8, which is no longer in production but is still a quite popular lens which is getting harder to find, even on the used market. When I received it the focus was a bit out of whack so I shipped it off to Essex Camera Service is New Jersey. They did a fantastic job and had it back to me in just a few days! Of course I grabbed my trusty model for the first few test shots, but expect to see a lot more examples from this Leica M9/Lens combo in the near future. So far I'm just loving the way it renders. Beautiful colors right out of the box, sharp as heck (thanks to Essex) and creamy creamy bokeh (out of focus area).
Just chillin
I'm thirsty! The birds can bath elsewhere.
